send down that cloud with a silver lining Carterton is a nifty little small town in the Wairarapa. It has everything you need except a handy trout stream? hehehehe and not only that but this town will play a major part in the new i-way when it gets properly wired up. To really understand small town new zealand you have to read bagnall, scholefield et al and the others who have left a remarkably rich history of this area. Wonderful stuff and we are so lucky to have been granted this legacy. The historical society has it all on tap. The people here are mostly good average kiwis going about their work and lives with good heart and good will. nothing fancy. I know them they know me. We know how to mind our own business. I have been here long enough to have seen the young un's grow and leave and the next generation appear. I call that a privilege. The people who ain't so good are the retirees who arrive with their new cars etc from the retirement package and look down on us like ...
