Carterton, NZ...

send down that cloud with a silver lining

Carterton is a nifty little small town in the Wairarapa.

It has everything you need except a handy trout stream?

hehehehe

and not only that but this town will play a major part in the new i-way when it gets properly wired up.

To really understand small town new zealand you have to read bagnall, scholefield et al and the others who have left a remarkably rich history  of this area. Wonderful stuff and we are so lucky to have been granted this legacy.

The historical society has it all on tap.

The people here are mostly good average kiwis going about their work and lives with good heart and good will. nothing fancy.

I know them they know me.

We know how to mind our own business.

I have been here long enough to have seen the young un's grow and leave and the next generation appear.

I call that a privilege.

The people who ain't so good are the retirees who arrive with their new cars etc from the retirement package and look down on us like yokels because we dress for our jobs and speak a different dialect.

I know them too.

Used to be in the crowd you're in with

I know who are the fakes and how to deal with them

my father was a union secretary at waingawa

many years ago when my sister got a job at Borthwicks HQ, Wgton,  they asked her if she was related.(?) hehehehehe,. She was the rebel and she voted tory. She kept her job.

my mother in her capacity employed literally thousands of people at the factory in Masterton. she knew everybody.

just kidding folks. I grew up in Masterton???????
they showed those movies at the regent but we were not allowed to go.

I could write books about it.

tell all about those people who think their own shit doesn't stink because they were some kind of wig in wgton and presume to pass judgement then and now and fuck people up for the sake of it.

only one person gets that call

dig?
